BROKEN HEARTS

Hey everyone!

Today I have decided to publish poetry of my own, inspired by many girls who have gotten their hearts broken yet kept a strong and confident front around others. To all those broken hearts out there, girl or boy...this is for you.

She cries over and over again
Tears drench her blanket as she wipes her tears with it
She slowly tries to put back those broken pieces of her heart
Fragile they were
Yet so sharp.

She latches onto her pillow
Pretending he was right there with her
She cries wishing it was him
Claiming that she still loves him
Hoping he would come back running.

Her eyes all swollen and vision so blurry
His scent still lingering on her finger tips
She can still hear his heartbeat
From all those times she rested on his chest.

There were times that she wondered
When she peeped into his phone
And saw other people being called beautiful
Made her feel worthless
Like she was just a toy
Who ended up getting thrown away.

These thoughts
One at a time poisoned her
Her soul and mind were contaminated
How does one decontaminate oneself
Who was going to reassure her that she is perfect when in reality.. she was all alone?

She closes her eyes,
Takes a deep breath and it replays..
That one moment when she got up in the morning and noticed the sun peeking from the curtains on to his face,
That face with those big brown eyes that winked at her across the dinner table.

Hands that hugged her tight when she cried
Kisses on the forehead promising her everything will be alright
Fingers that wiped away every single tear
Words of reassurance mouthing..

I will always love you.

He was her everything and the moment she realized she was his too
It was too late
An end to a beautiful era
The one that had people gasp in awe
Left them jealous and hating from within
Love does that to everyone
It takes you on a whirlwind and throws you into the dark.

A walk in the park may solve it
Or painting a portrait might help
They all said...
But how do you ignore mothers running behind their kids in the park
Or the love a painter pours into his painting
People assume love is just for two
But is it really this easy to forget the true meaning of love?

Now she wonders
Was I taken for granted?
Thought he would stay no matter what
His smile and quirky behavior made her laugh
They had code names for everything, only for them
She scrolls through the pictures she took of him secretly
Wishing to relive those moments
Every time of the day.

Now...

With her lights so dim and the curtains all shut
Will he ever come back to pull her out of this darkness....

He was her all and always will be.
